Privacy Policy

COOLM is a social, entertainment and creator platform operated from South Africa. This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you browse, post, stream, shop or earn on COOLM.

• Account details: name, handle, email, password hash, date of birth, avatar.
• Content you create: videos, photos, audio, captions, messages and live streams.
• Usage signals: watch time, skips, likes, follows, searches and topic interests, used to build your For You recommendations.
• Device and technical data: device type, app version, approximate region, IP address.
• Money data: coin purchases, gifts, payouts and the last four digits or reference from your payment provider. Full card numbers are never stored by COOLM.

• Run the service: feeds, messaging, live rooms, store and wallet.
• Personalise recommendations and ads you see.
• Keep COOLM safe: moderation, keyword filters, fraud and abuse detection.
• Pay creators correctly and meet tax and accounting duties.
• Support, security alerts and product updates.

We share only what is needed with service providers who host our infrastructure, deliver live video, process payments and send email. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose data where the law requires it or to protect users from serious harm.

Posts, profiles, comments and live streams are public by default. Direct messages, wallet balances, payout details and safety settings are private and restricted to you (and, where relevant, the other participant in a conversation).

We keep account and content data while your account is active. Deleted content is removed from feeds immediately and purged from backups within 30 days. Financial records are kept for five years as required by South African law.

You may access, correct, download or delete your data, object to personalised ads, and withdraw consent at any time from Safety & controls or by contacting us. You can also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

COOLM is for users 13 and older, with restricted and family-controlled experiences for younger teens. Accounts we identify as under-age are removed.
